If you want to survive and thrive as a salesperson during difficult times, you’ll likely need to reduce your expense of money and time
Start by cutting discretionary costs. These are costs that aren’t necessary to run your business.
Next, look at ways you can reduce costs but still achieve the same outcomes.
Can you reduce travel costs by using more videoconferencing technology?
After Covid19 – every business person is used to using it!
Next, consider your office space costs. Do you really need all that real estate?
Also take a close look at your supply chain. Some of your suppliers may be willing to give you better terms or discounts.
Manage Your Cash Flow
Each month you have cash coming and cash going out.
Not having enough incoming cash is one of the biggest reasons salespeople feel defeated.
As much as possible, stay on top of your cash flow.
Be sure to follow up with customers who fall behind on payments and work with them to stay as current as possible
That way you can pay your own bills on time and try to plan accordingly for purchases.
Doing so is just good business.
